How long do evaluations take?
It takes about 1 hour per child. It depends on how many questions you may have to discuss about your child.
What should I bring?
Bring your child and their work from the year you need evaluated. It does not need to be in any sort of order. Most people put all their books and workbooks in a box and bring it all. You do not need to bring all the books your child has read for the year. If you would like your child to read for me then bring a book they are currently reading. If your child is in first or second grade I can give them a quick reading test that gives you an idea what their reading level is.
Can I bring younger children?
Many parents bring their toddlers with them. You know your toddlers and know how well they can entertain themselves for an hour. I have some toys that might keep them occupied, but it is up to you to decide.
How much does an evaluation cost?
$45.00 per child (see pricing page)
Where are evaluations done?
Evaluations are done at my home, 3325 46 Terrace E. in Bradenton. Or I can meet you at the Braden River Public library which is two miles from my house on S.R. 70.
Evaluations can also be done by Zoom or Facetime. I started doing virtual evaluations during Covid and it worked so well that now they are an option at any time.
Can you come to my home?
Yes, I can do your evaluations in your home for an extra $10 which covers my travel time and gas.
Do I need evaluation forms?
No forms are needed any longer. The report that I type is all you need for your evaluation. In fact both Sarasota and Manatee Counties prefer that evaluations are sent online rather than mailed. I can easily help you with that. I will still mail you a hard copy of your evalution for your records if you prefer.

How long do I have to wait for my evaluation to be mailed to me?
I can usually mail your completed evaluation forms to you by the next day. I let you mail them in to your county or homeschool umbrella organization and keep one copy for your records.
Can you help with high school transcripts?
Yes, I suggest you look at the following link from Covenant College in Tennessee. You can print a free blank copy of a transcript to fill out starting in 9th grade. Scroll down the page until you see "Homeschool Resources". Click on it and you will see some instructions and links for transcripts.

My family has pet allergies. Do you have pets?
No, we are pet free. No need to worry about allergies.

What are my choices for the annual evaluation?
The state of Florida requires homeschooled students to have an annual evaluation. All evaluations must be done by a certified teacher or a licensed psychologist. I am a certified teacher in Florida who has evaluated homeschooled students for the last 28 years and would be happy to help you with your annual evaluation.
